The Parker Coonawarra Estate vineyards are located in the highly-regarded southern area of the Coonawarra's famed 'cigar shape'.

The Parker Coonawarra Estate vineyards are Cabernet Sauvignon predominant, with some small pockets of Merlot and Shiraz. The vines are John Parker's original plantings from 1985, using the Reynella Selection cuttings of Cabernet Sauvignon and the original cuttings from Bordeaux, sourced before Phylloxera decimated the vineyards in France in the late 1800's.

Coonawarra Terra Rossa soils are the oldest and most fertile of the 'Limestone Coast' soils, and are composed largely of limestone and aolian clay. With such a remarkable growing site, the cultural practices of Parker Coonawarra respect and nurture the inherent character of the vineyard sites. The Winemakers, Pete Bissell and Phil Lehmann, pay complete respect to the age of the vines and the varying vintage conditions each year in order for the full flavour potential of these vines to be realised.
