Alkoomi was one of the founding vineyards of the Great Southern region. Located in the northern Frankland River subregion, it has developed a strong reputation for the strength, luscious ripeness and longevity of its reds, of which the 2007 Jarrah Shiraz is a typically savoury example.

Alkoomi is also a leading maker of the typically musky, spicy and perfumed expression of Great Southern riesling, which now rates alongside those from the Clare and Eden Valleys. Recently Alkoomi passed into the hands of the family's next generation.
