Bowen Estate vineyards occupy 33 hectares of prime terra rossa soil. Still family owned and operated by Doug and Joy Bowen, with daughter Emma now taking on the winemaking role whilst Doug is looking after the viticultural side of things. Planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Chardonnay. Since the purchase in 1972 of their first block of land, hand pruning has always been part of Bowen Estate’s philosophy and uniqueness. The Shiraz in recent years from the Estate has continued to impress and deliver a very drinkable medium to full bodied style from this famous region.
